The NSS Bureau, KIIT-DU, kicked off NSS Week with a vibrant and grand traditional rally on 18th September 2025. The event was organized under the central theme – “Unity in Tradition, Strength in Diversity” – celebrating the rich cultural heritage of India while upholding the true spirit of the National Service Scheme (NSS).

The rally witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 550 NSS volunteers, students, and staff members, all dressed in traditional attire representing India’s diverse cultures. The programme commenced from Campus-6, Gandhi Chawk, and proceeded towards KIIT Square, with participants marching in unison while echoing bold and dignified NSS slogans.

The presence of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS, added special significance to the event. Dr. Samanta delivered a deeply motivational speech, expressing his joy and appreciation for the commitment, sincerity, and vibrant participation of students and staff. He highlighted how such rallies embody the essence of NSS – “Not Me, But You” – reflecting selfless service and unity in diversity.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Saranjit Singh, in his address, emphasized the pivotal role of NSS volunteers in shaping a compassionate and responsible society. He reiterated the guiding principle – “Service to Mankind is Service to God” – and urged the youth to continue being torchbearers of social change through NSS activities.

Registrar Prof. J. R. Mohanty underlined the importance of NSS in nation-building. He praised the volunteers for their active engagement in community development and stressed how NSS fosters leadership, empathy, and a spirit of collective responsibility among students.

The rally was a vibrant showcase of India’s cultural mosaic, where traditional costumes, diverse representations, and united voices reflected harmony, inclusiveness, and pride in heritage.

The programme was coordinated by Prof. Prabhat Kumar Rout, NSS Programme Coordinator, and Prof. Smruti Ranjan Das, NSS Liaison Officer, with the wholehearted support of Programme Officers (POs) – Dr. Smita Rani Panda (NSS PO, KSMAE), Dr. Snehalika Gupta (NSS PO, SoEE), and Ms. Pachi Bijayeeta (NSS PO, SCA). Their meticulous planning and guidance, along with the active involvement of student volunteers, made the event a memorable beginning to NSS Week.
