KIIT NSS Bureau Celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas-2023
KIIT NSS Bureau celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas-2023 on 26th July 2023. A silent rally, mega plantation drive, talks, and cultural programmes marked the occasion.
Addressing the NSS volunteers, Lt. Col. Manish Dogra, Additional Director-Training, NCC Directorate, Odisha, shared his experience during Operation Vijay, which led to the victory in Kargil. In his inspirational speech, Lt. Dogra highlighted the systematic plans and methodically executed operations in the dominating peaks occupied by the enemy that were attacked and recaptured. The operation was a unique display of bravery, resolve, and commitment under inhospitable terrain and weather conditions. On the occasion, Lt. Col. Manish Dogra was felicitated by Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU, and Prof. Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau.
NSS Programme Officers Dr. Bidu Bhusan Dash, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rout, and others facilitated the plantation drive in which 120 saplings were planted. Dr. Smruti Ranjan Dash, Programme Officer, KSFH, administered the Panch Pran Pledge to the volunteers. In the cultural segment, NSS volunteers Ishan Mukherjee, Suraj Singh, and their team mesmerized the audience with patriotic songs.
An orientation programme on ‘Yuva Portal’ was also conducted on the occasion by Bibhu Kalyani, NSS Volunteer. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. S. Dash. The programme was attended by more than 400 volunteers.
