KIIT NSS Bureau Celebrates International Youth Day

KIIT NSS Bureau celebrated the International Youth Day on 12th August, 2022 on the theme “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages.” The objective of the event was to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The occasion was graced by Dr. Bhagban Prakash, Former Program Advisor & Chief of NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India; Mr. Umi Daniel, Director Migration Education, Aide et Action South Asia; Shri Nirada Barana Khuntia, Co-ordinator, ETI; Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Students Counselling, KIIT-DU; Prof. S.K. Mahapatra, Director, KSOM; and Dr. Kajal Parashar, Programme Co-ordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhagwan Prakash emphasized, the purpose of NSS is to build bridges among the educated and the people in need and to remove the sense of indifference and apathy from the minds of the educated India. Mr. Umi Daniel focused on the importance of the youth in driving society forward whether it’s taking action on behalf of migrants or human trafficking. KIIT NSS Bureau expressed gratitude to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor; and Dr. J.R. Mohanty, Registrar for providing the opportunity to the Bureau to organize the event, which was attended by over 300 volunteers.
