KIDS NSS Wing Observes Oral Hygiene Day
The NSS Wing of Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), along with Department of Public Health Dentistry and Department Periodontics and Oral Implantology, celebrated Oral Hygiene Day 1st August 2021 to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the doyen of Indian Periodontology and Founder of Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP), Prof. Dr. G. B. Shankwalkar. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Avinash J., Professor and Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry. He spoke about the importance of maintaining Oral Hygiene.
Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi, Asst. Director (Administration), KIDS addressed the participants and motivated them for maintaining Oral Hygiene. The event was also addressed by Dr. Md Jalaluddin, Professor, Department of Periodontology, KIDS and Dr Kajal Parashar, NSS Coordinator, KIDS. On the occasion, NSS, KIDS organized online slogan and poster competitions on the theme of oral health. Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi announced the winners of the competition.
The event consisted of a series of talks by Dr. Samiksha Jena, Dr. Priyanka Brahma and Dr. Yagnaseni on the significance of proper tooth brushing, correct techniques and oral hygiene aids. They also distributed free toothpaste to orphanage students and staff members. Dr. Dhirendra Kumar Singh, Program Officer, NSS, KIDS delivered the vote of thanks and congratulated students for the great coordination during the entire event.
