KISS-DU & IIPA New Delhi Sign MoU

KISS Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar and the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 3rd November 2021 with the objective of joint collaboration in research, teaching and innovation activities of mutual interest.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU presented a brief profile of KISS-DU and highlighted the best practices adopted by the University, including implementing the concept of Professor of Practice in KISS pedagogy. He also mentioned some other positive academic ventures such as formation of Tribal Advisory Council and Indigenous Innovation Incubator. He said that initiatives have already been taken for revitalizing tribal culture and heritage and meeting all the 17 Sustainable Development Goals stipulated by the United Nations. Professor Behera elaborated some provisions of the MoU such as joint academic programmes, faculty exchange programmes, short-term internships and collaborative research activities between the two institutions.

Addressing the faculty, Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi, IAS, (Retd.), Director General, IIPA, New Delhi expressed delight at the new collaborative venture between the two institutions. He spoke on the paradigm shift in the pedagogic needs that necessitates updating of skills on the part of the faculty. He spoke on the importance of life-long education, and equipping the students with skill-sets. Shri Tripathi appreciated NEP 2020 and held that KISS should re-define its teaching and research in terms of the NEP. He emphasized the need for making students “Atma Nirbhar” from day-one, and concluded by stressing the roles and responsibilities of teachers in teaching the much-needed worldly wisdom besides book-knowledge.

Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU proposed the vote of thanks to Shri Tripathi for his inspiring talk and conveyed his best wishes for the new collaboration.
