KIIT Signs MoU with CSIR-CRRI For Collaboration on Research and Development in the areas of Road and Transportation Sector

KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU) and CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration on various aspects of industrial R&D activities in the areas of road and transportation sector on 03rd April 2023 at the office of CSIR-CRRI, New Delhi.

Speaking at the signing in ceremony, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University outlined the various academic policies laid by Govt. of India and expressed her desire to help students by exposing them to a wealth of information, experience, and expertise based learning referring to the strengths of CRRI in road research considering the economy, biodiversity and social impact.

Prof. Manoranjan Parida, Director, CRRI highlighted the objective of the MoU and current engagements of CRRI for the development of transportation in the country using road infrastructure and also the projects which  CRRI has undertaken especially in Odisha state. He acknowledged the tremendous potential of the KIIT School of Civil Engineering in developing futuristic technologies and supporting the R&D activities in the road sector. In addition to this, he stressed on the commencement of joint M.Tech & PhD program on real time problems.

Prof. Benu Gopal Mohapatra, Director, Consultancy Services highlighted the genesis of ideas for this collaboration in the form of MoU and expressed his thanks to CRRI for their acceptance to sign this MoU.

Senior functionaries of CRRI – Dr. Prasad (Head PME); Dr. Siksha Swaroopa and other senior scientists were also present on the occasion. Two of the proud alumni of School of Civil Engineering, KIIT-DU, Dr Deepanshu Shirole, Asst Professor at Civil Engg Dept, IIT Delhi; and Dr Jnyanendra Prusty, Post-doctoral fellow, IIT Delhi also witnessed the event.
