KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have renewed their long-standing academic partnership with Hanseo University, Republic of Korea, further strengthening an association that has continued for over 16 years.
The Memorandum of Understanding was renewed at Hanseo University during the visit of Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, to South Korea. The partnership between the two institutions has been in place since 2009, encompassing student and faculty exchanges, cultural visits, and the sharing of academic and educational practices.
Hanseo University is widely recognised in Asia for its excellence in aviation and aerospace engineering education. Founded by Dr. Kee Sun Ham, a renowned plastic surgeon and educationist, the university has developed a strong ecosystem focused on aerospace education, training, and research.
The renewed MoU expands collaboration across several key academic areas. These include student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, internship opportunities, and the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at KIIT. The agreement also provides for a 2+2 twin programme in Aerospace Engineering, enabling students to pursue two years of study at KIIT followed by two years at Hanseo University.
During the visit, Prof. Samanta toured Hanseo University’s advanced aerospace facilities, including aircraft, helicopters, drone technologies, and state-of-the-art training infrastructure, underscoring the institution’s strong emphasis on practical and application-oriented education.
The renewed agreement is expected to deepen institutional ties further and create meaningful academic opportunities for students and faculty of both institutions through sustained collaboration and shared learning.
