KIIT-DU, OTDS & OSFDC Sign MoU for Skill Development among SC & ST
KIIT-DU signed MoUs with Odisha Tribal Development Society (OTDS) and Odisha SC & ST Development Finance Co-operative Corporation Ltd. (OSFDC) on 23rd November 2021 for skill development training programme among SC and ST candidates. Dr. Prasanta Parida, Dy. Director, KIIT Skill signed the MoU on behalf of the Secretary KIIT & KISS. As per the agreement with OSFDC, KIIT will impart skill training in three sectors to 210 candidates from Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha. Similarly, skill training will be imparted to 240 candidates from Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Deobagarh and Gajapati districts of Odisha in 3 sectors, as per the MoU with OTDS.
Earlier, KIIT has trained 1100 candidates on various sectors and trades under empanelment for Skill Development Training programme with OSFDC for the last seven years. About 750 candidates were placed in various industries inside and outside Odisha. The programme is meant for SC candidates from poor families. It has trained 60 candidates in various sectors and trades under empanelment for Skill Development Training programme with OTDS for the last two years. During the last batch training, about 75% of the candidates were placed with industries outside Odisha. The programme is meant for ST candidates from poor families.
The Principal Secretary to Govt of Odisha, ST & SC Dept.; Secretary, KIIT & KISS; Jt. Secretary to Govt of India, Ministry of ST & SC Welfare; Director SC & ST and other dignitaries from OSDA, OSFDC, OTDS, etc. were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
