KIIT University and ABI-Showatech (India) Limited are implementing their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed in October 2025, through a series of initiatives focused on recruitment, talent development, research collaboration and industry integration.

As part of the initiative, ABI Showatech will coordinate the on boarding of 40 ITI and Diploma graduates already recruited from KIIT, while recruitment of additional professionals is expected to be finalized next week. The collaboration aims to create a sustainable talent pipeline from KIIT to meet the company’s evolving workforce requirements.

Students selected from KIIT are undergoing an internship at ABI’s Pullivalum manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu and will come back to Odisha once the company’s upcoming green-field plant in the state becomes operational in the coming years.

Expressing satisfaction over the initiative, the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta said KIIT has always emphasized placement and skill development of its students. As a result, most Indian and multinational companies select students from KIIT through the campus placement process.

The partnership is also designed to enhance industry exposure for students through structured internships and hands-on training opportunities at ABI’s manufacturing facilities, with provisions for accommodation, meals, and possible stipends.

On the research front, three joint proposals are currently under evaluation, with selected projects expected to commence shortly. The collaboration will focus on applied research in manufacturing process optimization, materials engineering and supply chain innovation by leveraging KIIT’s academic expertise and ABI Showatech’s industrial strengths.

The partnership is expected to benefit both institutions through skilled manpower development, stronger industry linkages and collaborative innovation opportunities.
