KSPH Director Invited as External Resource Faculty for Training of District Epidemiologists
Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Kumar Satpathy, Director, KIIT School of Public Health (KSPH) was invited to act as an External Resource Faculty for the training of District Epidemiologists under the Integrated Surveillance Programme (IDSP) of Government of India. The two-week Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP) of IDSP was organized by the Institute of Public Health, Delhi (IIPHD) offline from 6th to 18th December, 2021. Twenty-one district/State Epidemiologists of 5 State Governments namely Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir participated at the training.
Prof. (Dr.) Satpathy acted as an external faculty from December 13-17, 2021 and covered many essential topics of disease/risk factor surveillance, investigation of outbreaks and report writing. The training was very much participatory. Hands-on training on surveillance data management and analysis was also given. The participants appreciated the usefulness of the training program especially in the current Covid- 19 pandemic situation.
