KSFH Lecture Series: Talk by Swami Shyama Chaitanya

Swami Sri Shyama Chaitanya, a monk from Rishikesh delivered a talk on the topic “Understanding Our Dharmic Intellectual Tradition” at KIIT School of Social, Financial & Human Science (KSFH) on 23rd November 2022. Today’s generation is blindly following the western traditions without understanding the negative impact it may have, Swami Sri Shyama Chaitanya said, while expressing concern that the young people are unaware of our glorious past and the contributions of ancient Indian scientists, mathematicians, astronomers and philosophers. He discussed India’s rich intellectual tradition and explained how they are relevant to today’s world. He also interacted with the students and answered their questions related to life, career, relationships and spirituality. 

Swami Sri Shyama Chaitanya is a monk pursuing his spiritual calling at Rishikesh. He started his professional career as a lecturer at the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Delhi University and later switched several jobs in media, academia, NGOs, and Government. He later worked with the World Bank for about a decade. Later, he moved to Rishikesh to study Vedanta and other scriptures with traditional Acharyas.
