Kzarshion Society of KSAC Hosts 2nd Episode of “Kandid with Kzarshion”
Kzarshion, the Official Fashion Society of KIIT functioning under KSAC, hosted its 2nd episode of “Kandid with Kzarshion” on 24th December 2021. Kzarshion invited Mr. Gaurang Shah, famous for his inventive, timeless designs and his trademark the “Jamdani Sari” to grace the event. He nurtured his dream by frequenting his father’s textile store, learning about textiles, textures, and fabrics after his schooling hours. Today, he works with 800 and a growing number of weaving artisans in South, East, and West of India.
Mr. Shah is a proud winner of National Award for Best Costume Designer for Telugu Film Mahanati and also the Best Designer Award Winner for utilization of Indian Weaves and Craftsmanship into his ensembles from Lakme Fashion Week. He is also a member of the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Board. The designer reached fascinating milestones, including global recognition for winning the Best Indian Weaves Designer Award at the Lakme Fashion Week, Winter/Festive in 2012. His story is not one of luck or overnight.
Through the entire episode multiple factors were discussed in context with the Indian Textile Fashion and how Indian Culture is evolving with respect to Fashion. Mr. Gaurang talked about his own experience. The show was hosted by Mayank Kumar. Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services thanked Mr. Shah for accepting the invitation and being a part of the show and also congratulated Mayank Kumar for hosting the event brilliantly.
