KSAC: Orientation Programme for New Student Coordinators & Asst. Coordinators by Alumni
KIIT Student Activity Centre (KSAC) comprises 28 Student Societies, where students get involved in activities relating to their respective areas of interest. Recently, 124 Student Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators were selected for the academic year 2020-21. An online Orientation Programme was conducted on 29th August 2020 for the newly selected Student Coordinators and Asst. Coordinators. For the first time, two alumni, who were an integral part of KSAC, were invited to interact with them and share their experiences.
Asambhava Subha, (B-tech 2012-16 batch, School of Computer Engineering), presently working as Strategy & Experience Design Specialist at Deloitte University, Hyderabad and Founder of Zaikaana, an unique interactive series on Food and travel, shared her experiences during her stay at KIIT. She emphasized on the importance of teamwork, being proactive in taking initiatives, and grabbing every opportunity to work. She said, there is a need to balance academics and co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Amandeep Singh, (B-tech 2013-17 batch, School of Mechanical Engineering), started his career with Accenture and is now carrying forward his passion as one of the popular story tellers of India. He stressed that one should do what he/she likes and should never give up his/her passion. Giving equal importance to studies and passion would result in a holistic development. He asked the newly selected students to be leaders with the right vision and motivated them with a few anecdotes.
The interactions followed a short Q&A session. The students were very happy with this new initiative and had an open discussion with both the alumni.
Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director Student Services, KIIT, in his interaction, welcomed the new leaders and emphasized on working as a team because the best team gives best results. He outlined the rules and regulations of KSAC and asked them to plan for the coming year. He informed them that a formal Induction Ceremony is being planned.
Dr. Behura thanked the dynamic alumni duo for accepting the invitation to be part of the Orientation Programme. He also thanked Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor; Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar and the Student Activity Committee for their guidance and support.
