Orientation Programme for KISS PG Students for Odisha Civil Service Examination 2020-21 Inaugurated
An Orientation Programme for PG students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) for Odisha Civil Services Examination 2020-21 was inaugurated by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS in the presence of Shri N. P. Das, Director General (Social Projects), KIIT-DU; Shri Samarendra Sahu, Advisor, KIIT-TBI; Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU; Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS; and Dr. S. K. Mohapatra, Director, KIIT School of Management at KISS on 19th March 2021.
Inaugurating the programme, Dr. Achyuta Samanta cautioned students about the likely second wave of Covid-19 and advised them to adopt Covid appropriate behaviour and not to venture out of KISS premises. He told them to be proactive and hardworking to achieve their goals. He also requested the identified faculties to handhold the students in an effective manner. Dr. Samanta advised each of the students attending the programme to brief at least one more student, who is not attending, about the details of the orientation programme. He expressed his vision of enabling maximum students from KISS to qualify in all India & state-level competitive examinations.
The welcome address was given by Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS, followed by a motivational speech by Prof. S. K. Mohapatra, Director, KSOM who talked about the -6- C’s, i.e. Courage, Competence, Communication, Collaboration, Compassion and Character.
In his address, Shri N. P. Das placed the detailed roadmap for the programme. He expressed hope that given the Government guidelines, maximum students can qualify from KISS. The programme was also addressed by Prof. J. R. Mohanty and Shri Samarendra Sahu, who encouraged the students to give their best in the journey for preparation. Prof. S. N. Mishra, Dean, School of Management shared his experience about teaching the students of KISS and laid the importance on focused learning. The programme was also addressed by Prof. Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KIIT School of Law.
The orientation programme will roll out under the Chairmanship of Shri N. P. Das and will be coordinated by Shri Apratim Tewari, In-charge faculty, School of Leadership. On this occasion, a self motivational book authored by Dr. Chinmaya Kumar Das, Director, Founder’s Office, titled “Live Life King Size” was unveiled by the Founder.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. P. K. Routray. It was attended by 162 PG students of KISS and identified resource persons of KIIT & KISS. The residential programme will roll out from 22th March 2021 and continue upto 30th April 2021 for preparing the students for the preliminary examination due for the first week of May 2021.
