KISS-DU Observes International Day of Persons with Disabilities

KISS Deemed to be University observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December 2021. On the occasion, the differently-abled staff members of KISS and KISS-DU shared their feelings. The session was graced by senior functionaries and faculty members of the institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU praised the efforts of the staff members who have contributed to the institution’s holistic growth. He also highlighted that Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KISS & KIIT is a compassionate person and it is his vision to help differently-abled persons in every possible way. KISS has been closely working with all the UN agencies and its focus is on building an inclusive, accessible and sustainable world especially post-Covid-19, he said. Professor Behera underlined the need for elevating emotional quotient to build an inclusive society. He concluded by saying that KISS has created a niche by providing opportunities to persons with disabilities through compassion and empathy.

Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, CEO, KISS & Registrar, KISS-DU praised the efforts of one and all for being very friendly to the differently-abled staff members. Dr. Samanta always gives utmost priority to the differently-abled persons and helps them in all possible ways, he stated. Talking about inclusion, he said that it plays a pivotal role in protecting human rights, sustainable development, and peace and security and emphasized on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to “leave no one behind”. Dr. Routray concluded by urging everyone to adopt an Integrated Approach to ensure that everyone is included which is the central promise of the 2030 Agenda.
