KISS-DU Observes Hindi Diwas
The School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (Hindi Programme), KISS-DU observed Hindi Diwas or National Hindi Day on 14th September 2022. It is celebrated to mark the adaptation of Hindi as the official language by the Constituent Assembly. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice Chancellor, KISS-DU mentioned the role of language in the development of personality. The keynote speaker, Professor Smarapriya Mishra, Professor Emerita, KISS-DU briefed on the status of Hindi and the role of languages and cultural values in bringing unity in the country. Dr. Rasmita Tripathy, Dean, School of Comparative Tribal Languages also spoke on the occasion. A Prize Distribution Ceremony was also organized to felicitate the winners of various competitions. Among others, the event was graced by senior functionaries and faculty members. Dr. Ranjita Jena, Head, Hindi Programme coordinated the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
