Virtual Counselling Session at KINS

Counselling is an important aspect of the academic process. It helps the students as well as the faculty members in various walks of life to deal with stress. Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS) organized a virtual counselling session conducted by Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director-Student Counselling, KIIT-DU on 9th February 2022. B.Sc. (N) 2nd year, 3rd year, GNM 3rd year students along with faculty members of KINS joined the session.

Dr. Priyabadini outlined the basic objectives of student counselling and interacted with the students and faculty members addressing their doubts related to stress in daily lives, especially in view of the pandemic. She enlightened the participants on the importance of counselling for today’s z-generation. Laying focus on the mentoring process, she explained how mentors would help the students in guidance and counselling, influencing their life in a positive way. She also spoke about the hybrid counselling sessions, cultural exchange programs, digital internship, workshops/ seminars/ webinars and alumni address to strengthen student’s positivity and drive towards their goal. She advised the students to maintain a strong relationship with the tutor-mentors. Around 190 participants attended the counselling session.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS highlighted the importance of student counselling. Mrs Karisma Tripathy, Tutor, KINS also spoke.
