The first scientific session commenced by the eminent Resource Person Dr. Kamlesh Ku. Sharma, Associate Prof. AIIMS, New Delhi on the topic “Exploring the advancement in community health Practices” chaired by Mrs. Tapati Saha,

The theme was unfolded by Mrs. Soumya Sonalika , Asst. Prof, Dept. of CHN, KINS. Inaugural cum valedictory session was graced by our Chief guest Dr. Sarada Prasanna Swain, Director, HOD, Psychiatry, MHI, SCB, Cuttack and the Guest of honor Dr. Sushil Kumar Kar, Director of Nursing, Odisha, Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty, VC, KIIT Deemed to be University Major Gen P.K.Pattnaik, Principal & Director School of medicine , Mr. Panchanan Parida, Management representative, PBMH, KIMS. All dignitaries lighted the lamp and guests and participants were welcomed by Prof. (Mrs.) Amarita Lenka , Principal, KINS.


Prof. H. Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, addressed the gathering with his valuable words of encouragements for nursing profession. Major gen. Prof. P.K.Patnaik , Principal KIMS and Director school of Medicine congratulated and appreciated KINS fraternity for organizing such informative seminar and Mr. Panchanan Parida, Management Representative focused on contribution of Nurses towards rendering service in community mental health.

Guest of honor Dr. Sushil Kumar Kar, Director Nursing, emphasized on scopes and development in the field of community and mental health, and he also announced that the Govt. of Odisha has planned to create around 6000 Nursing posts to bridge the gap.The chief guest Dr. Sarada Prasanna Swain highlighted the true Scenario of prevalence of mental health illness and services rendered for well being of the society.
