Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences Organizes 2nd Alumni Talk Series

Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS) organized the 2nd Alumni Talk Series on 30th July 2021. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Mrs.) Amarita Lenka, Principal, College of Nursing, KINS, who welcomed both alumni, Ms. Manjula Kumari Nayak and Mr. Lalan Kumar. She expressed her gratitude to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for providing an excellent ambience to work.

In the 1stsession, Ms. Manjula Kumari Nayak Tutor/Clinical Instructor, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar delivered her talk on ‘Career Opportunities’. She described her journey and how she started her career as a 1st batch M.Sc. nursing student at KINS. After completion, she joined as a staff nurse. In 2016, her designation was changed to Nursing Officer. She expressed how challenging and tough it was for her during the starting period of her professional career as a direct care provider. Gradually she took it as a challenge and proved herself as a skilled competent Nursing Officer and was promoted to the post of Deputy Nursing Superintendent in Modular OT complex at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. She discussed about the career opportunities in Nursing. She expressed her pleasure while providing direct patient care. At last, she advised the students regarding the importance and use of time which will give them a bright and successful career ahead.

The 2nd session was taken by Mr. Lalan Kumar, who is currently working as a Nursing Officer at AIIMS, Patna. He delivered his talk on Career Pathway. He introduced himself and shared his journey starting from B.Sc. Nursing at KINS and PG in RAK, DU to a Nursing Officer at AIIMS, Patna. It was a mixture of good and worst struggle as expressed by him. He conveyed his gratitude to the Founder and Principal, KINS along with all the faculty members for his success. He encouraged and motivated the students on their career path.
