STF Quarterly Meet Held at Dept of Respiratory Medicine, KIMS

The State Task Force (STF) of National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) held its quarterly meeting in the Department of Respiratory Medicine, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) on August 4, 2023. The meeting was held in hybrid mode.

Prof Manoranjan Patnaik, Chairman of STF, Prof Sudarshan Pothal, Vice-Chairman, STF and Dr PK Hota, State TB Officer (STO) were among the prominent members attending the meeting. The meeting commenced with a welcome note from the Chairman Prof Sudarshan Pothal as he presented the role of the STF and various medical colleges in the elimination of TB.

The STF primarily aims at proper implementation of NTEP in the various medical colleges of the state. The performance of all medical colleges of the State was presented which were scrutinised and the shortcomings discussed in detail. The performance of KIMS was presented by Dr Saswat Subhankar, Nodal Officer, NTEP.

The STF provides financial grants for projects which are beneficial to the programme. In this regard, two operational research papers from SCBMCH were presented in the meeting. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from Prof Pratima Singh, HoD, Dept of Respiratory Medicine, KIMS.
