SCB Medical College Felicitates KIMS Professor

SCB Medical College is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee from September to November 2021 (75 days). As a part of the celebrations, it is conducting CME Programs in all departments, inviting some of its alumni turned eminent doctors. Dr. Hemanta Kumar Kar, Professor & HoD, Department of Dermatology, KIMS was invited to deliver a lecture on  his research work on Leprosy vaccine development, which was carried out between 1986 to 2005 for immunotherapy and immunoprophylaxis purpose  in leprosy sponsored by DBT, Govt of India under the leadership of Prof.  G. P. Talwar, Former Director, National Institute of Immunology, Delhi. His research work was highly appreciated by dermatologists and faculty members. 

He was felicitated by the Dean and Principal of SCB Medical College, Cuttack on 23^rd September 2021 in recognition of his research work in leprosy. The IAL Textbook of Leprosy, edited by him, is very popular among  (DVL) post graduate students. It is a  standard book for  post graduate education  in  Dermatology all over the country and outside.
