KIMS Orthopaedic Doctor Motivates ‘Peer Trainers’ for Persons with Spinal Injury

Dr. Tanmoy Mohanty, Professor & HOD of Orthopaedics, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bhubaneswar graced the annual gathering of ‘peer trainers’ for spinal injured persons as the Guest of Honour at SVNIRTAR, Olatpur, Odisha on 22nd March 2022. The Ganga Foundation (TGF) undertakes multiple activities to reduce hardship of the spinal injured people. ‘Peer trainer’ is their flagship program. They engage spinal injured people who have managed to overcome the set-back and come out as survivors. These peer trainers act as role-models to other patients and give them the much-needed hope to recover and live life to their best potential. The annual gathering witnessed participants from all over India. Dr. Mohanty interacted with the Peer Trainers and the organisers following a motivational talk.
