KIMS organises Ph.D. orientation programme

The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, KIIT-DU organised an “Orientation Programme” for the third batch of Ph.D. students enrolled in the academic year 2022-‘23 on February 28. The 16 Ph.D. scholars registered in the Departments of Biochemistry, Clinical Psychology, Microbiology, Physiology, Community Medicine and Psychiatry, along with their guides, attended the programme.

At the outset, Principal School of Medicine Brig. (Prof.) Dr. Ambika Prasad Mohanty gave his introductory remarks on the Ph.D. programme at KIMS and was hopeful that the enrolled scholars will bring laurels to the institute through their hard work. He also emphasized the need to carry out high quality research through collaboration with other schools of KIIT-Deemed-to-be-University.

Speaking at the orientation programme, Prof. (Dr.) Ramnath Misra, Dean R&D welcomed the dignitaries and newly- joined Ph.D. scholars. He also briefed about the rules and regulation of Ph.D. and emphasized the role of the Research Scrutiny Committee and the school-level RC, etc. The programme was also attended by Vice-Principal, Prof (Dr.) Shubhransu Patro, DDSA Dr. Nandita Sen and other senior professors of the departments concerned.

The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Chaitali Pattanayak, faculty in-charge, Ph.D. programme, KIMS.
