KIMS Observes Global Hand Washing Day
The students and faculty members of the Department of Community Medicine, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences observed Global Handwashing Day 2022 at the Immunization Clinic andUrban Health and Training Centre on October 15 to create awareness of getting united for universal hand hygiene, while the world has moved beyond the COVID experience.
At the immunization OPD awareness was created among mothers attending immunization OPD and the mothers of children admitted to the Department of Pediatrics.
Students of the Department of Nursing along with Deputy Nursing Superintendent Rama Nayak were also present during the observation. Immunisation clinic duty doctor in charge Dr Geeta Chand Acharya highlighted the theme for 2022 “Unite for universal hand hygiene”.
Duty sister in-charge demonstrated the steps of handwashing to the audience present. The post-graduate students Dr Pragyan, Dr Smriti, Dr Ritu and Dr Asutosh delivered talks on the need for handwashing, types of hand washing and surgical handwashing. The whole event was carried out under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Ipsa Mohapatra of Community Medicine Department. Lab technicians Swaroop Ray Choudhary and Satya Nayak also helped in the smooth conduct of the event. Interns posted in the immunisation OPD displayed posters to emphasize the same.
