KIMS Faculties Present Research Proposals in State Task Force Meeting on NTEP, Odisha
A State Task Force meeting on NTEP was organized by State TB Cell in collaboration with Anti TB Demonstration and Training Centre on 17th September at Telemedicine Centre, SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack.
KIMS is one of the centers of the State Task Force on the National TB Elimination Programme NTEP). Prof. (Dr.) Pratima Singh, HOD of the Pulmonary Department is leading the NTEP programme at KIMS as per the State Task Force Guideline.
Dr. Saswat Subhankar, Assistant Professor from the Pulmonary Department, Dr. Bandita Panda, PhD, Scientific Officer from the Research and Development Department, Dr. Krishna Mishra, Assistant Professor from Community Medicine Department, Dr. Alok K. Panda, PhD, Assistant Professor from School of Applied Science participated and presented their research proposals.
Dr. Saswat Subhankar presented the clinical data regarding TB management at KIMS. Dr. Bandita Panda and Dr. Alok K Panda presented the research proposal regarding the molecular aspect of Bedaquiline. Dr. Surya Prakash Routray, PG student in Community Medicine Department presented a research proposal on the assessment of patient pathways among TB patients in Odisha. Dr. Abhisek Das, PG student, Pulmonary Department, presented a research proposal on the Diagnosis Accuracy of treatment of Extra Pulmonary Tuberculosis. The State Task Force team appreciated the project proposals and suggested some points for funding and also suggested opening a DRTB Centre at KIMS.
