KIMS Doctor’s Innovations Attract Attention of Senior WHO Official

Innovations of Dr. Ashok Kumar Badamali, Cardiac Anesthesiologist, KIMS, such as Sanjivani QCPR Device and Sanjivani QCPR Kiosk, attracted the attention of Ms. Louise Agersnap, Head Medical Innovation Hub, World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva.

On the eve of World Health Day on 7th April 2022, WHO inaugurated its first Global WHO Medical Innovation Collaboration Center in India. During the interaction, Ms. Louise was quite impressed with the innovations done by Dr. Badamali, to empower common men in performing quality chest compression before the arrival of the emergency medical team. She also expressed her interest to take these innovations to an international forum as it shares the common aim with WHO, in reducing cardiac mortality by ensuring effective CPR at event sites. The product information data sheet and demo video were handed over to her.

The Head, Strategic Partnership & Entrepreneurship Development Department, BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India, also interacted with Dr. Badamali about all the eight upcoming innovations by Inofinity RND Pvt Ltd, its technology readiness level and the potential for import substitutions along with the various facilities provided by the Govt. They also discussed the opportunities for healthcare innovation scope by clinicians at KIIT-DU. Dr Badamali also informed about the various facilitations he got from AMTZ, Visakhapatnam, NRDC, KIIT-TBI, ILS Bhubaneswar and Start-UP Odisha in his innovation journey.
