KIMS Conducts Inaugural Alumni Meet

Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) conducted its inaugural Alumni Meet both in the offline and online mode on 14th September 2021. Addressing the alumni and students, Maj Gen (Dr) Pradeep Kumar Patnaik, Principal and Director General School of Medicine, KIMS emphasized the importance in having a strong Alumni connect and deep lasting bonds with their Alma Mater. AVM (Dr.) Rama Chandra Das, Vice Principal and HOD Psychiatry; Col (Dr.) Mrs. Lalita Patnaik and Mr. Dilip Kumar Panda, Director Administration were present at the inaugural function.

The youngest batch of KIMS (MBBS Batch – 2020 comprising 250 students) attended the event physically, maintaining strict COVID-19 protocols, while students of other batches and alumni joined on the online mode. Dr. Jigyanasa Ipsita Pattanaik, an alumna of KIMS and topper and Gold Medallist of 2007 Batch was the Guest Speaker. She did her M.D. in Psychiatry from the (COE) Mental Health Institute, SCB Medical College Hospital Cuttack in 2017.  She followed this with a DNB in Psychiatry in 2018. At present, she is pursuing Child Psychiatry Fellowship at St. John’s Medical College Bangalore. 

Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries, the students of the 2020 batch, conveyed their gratitude to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for providing them such a fine platform for educational growth. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Snigdha Singh, an alumna of 2010 batch.
