KIMS Community Medicine Department Celebrates National Nutrition Week with a Quiz
Prof. (Dr.) Basanta Kumar Behera, HOD, Department of The National Nutrition Week-2023, the first week of the month of September started with a Quiz Contest on Healthy Nutrition by the Department of Community Medicine, KIMS. The quiz was conducted for the undergraduate students on September 1. Two-hundred fifty students of MBBS undergraduate batch of 2020 participated in it, comprising of five students in each team.
Community Medicine started off the quiz contest by saying a few words to the students on how nutrition is important for a healthy lifestyle and the need to make the general public and patients aware about nutrition and its role in disease prevention.
Dr. Alpana Mishra, Associate Professor from the Department was the designated quiz master. She was helped by other faculties and post-graduate students.
The result of the quiz competition was declared during the “Health Talk’’ session conducted on September 5. Team comprising Anoshka Patra, Adrika De, Aadrish Kr Mukherjee, Shivangi Baral and Tamali Ghosh was declared as the winning team. Team comprising Ishita Ghosh, Bejoya Ghosh, Meghmala Pal, Anusha Chakrabarti and Ritam Ghosalwas declared as the 1st Runners up and team comprising of Abhik Mitra, Ayantika Mitra, Amrit Kaur, Ipsita Chatterjee and Isha Yadav was declared as the 2nd Runners up.
KIMS Principal Prof. (Dr.) Ambika Prasad Mohanty graced the prize distribution ceremony and gave away the prizes and certificates to the winning teams.
