KIMS Celebrates World Anaesthesia Day 2023

The Department of Anaesthesiology, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) celebrated World Anaesthesia Day 2023 on October 16 with Faculty members, students and staff and discussed how Anaesthesiologists are working tirelessly as the guardians of comfort and Safety for the patients.

The Anaesthesiology experts are walking the line from evolution to revolution with the advent of new formulations, equipment, and ASA (American Society of Anaesthesiologists) standard monitoring techniques, all of which enhance patient-comfort and safety.

During the morning hours a quiz on World Anaesthesia Day was also organised among the PG students of the department and certificates and prizes were distributed to the winners by KIMS Medical Superintendent Prof. Rama Chandra Das, Additional Medical Superintendent Prof. Kabi Kanta Samantray, and HoD Anaesthesiology KIMS Prof. Amrita Panda.

The day was also celebrated at the KIMS Super Speciality and Cancer Centre (SS&KCC) with doctors, staff and support staff. Facility Director (SS & KCC) Dr. Shaktimaya Mohapatra joined the celebration. During both the events cake-cutting was done and pleasantries were distributed among the support staff.
