Dr. Anupam Jena from the Department of Cardiology, KIMS has recently conducted a workshop on Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE). TEE is a type of specialized Cardiac Echocardiography done by inserting an echo probe into the esophagus.

It is a very useful modality for detailed evaluation of cardiac structure and function. However, performing a TEE needs some expertise to get the adequate views and interpretation. The TEE workshop was a two-day program where 15-20 Cardiologists from all over Odisha were trained on how to perform a TEE. There was hands-on exposure with simulators. This is the first such program in Odisha.
