The Academic Audit of different programmes of School of Medicine, KIMS was held on 22nd July 2021. The purpose of the Academic Audit was to ensure qualitative processing measures for online teaching, learning and e-evaluation followed in the School. The two experts from Institutes of Eminence, Dr. Sukriya Nayak, Professor of Surgery, CMC Vellore and Dr. Susil Kumar Mohapatra, Ex-Dean, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, conducted the audit

At the outset, Maj. Gen. Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Patnaik VSM, Principal KIMS and Director, KIMS Group welcomed the external auditors and shared the agenda points and flowchart of conduct of audit with them. Air Vice Marshal Prof. (Dr.) R. C. Das, Vice Principal, KIMS emphasized the activities and initiatives taken by the School based on the last Academic Audit in 2019-20 and then gave a brief introduction of the Academic Programme and School activities.

A demo online class with the students of 8th Semester was organized. Prof. K. P. Tripathy, Professor of Medicine conducted the class with problem and activity based learning, with good student participation. Dr. Basanti Kumari Pathi, Associate Professor in Microbiology spoke in detail about curriculum, their objectives & outcome, teaching learning method practices in the School. The main focus was on online teaching and learning, how Schools innovate TLO to achieve curricular outcome.

Dr. Magna Manjareeka, Associate Professor in Physiology presented the pattern of examination and 360 degree assessment and practice followed by the Schools to measure the outcome of various courses. Dr. Ramnath Misra, Dean R & D deliberated upon the uniqueness of the separate R&D in the School and projected the progress of various outcome measures like number of Research papers, HI index, Citation index and sponsored projects and patents. He had shown a steady increase in various outcomes in the last three years, which was appreciated by the external auditors.

At the end, the external auditors discussed with the parents, students and alumni as stakeholders of the institution separately. The parents praised the School authorities and faculty for all round development of their ward and continuous learning during this pandemic time and expressed their desire and requested for early reopening of the College like in Karnataka.

The alumni and students shared their experience with the experts auditors, during their study here and praised how the School was instrumental in their all round development, enabling them with a passport to their first pay packet and motivated them to become good human being with a burning desire to serve the nation on their respective field as future Doctors.

The meeting ended with compilation of the audit report by the external auditors. The vote of thanks was proposed by Vice Principal, Air Vice Marshal Prof. (Dr.) R. C. Das.
