National Webinar by ISCA Bhubaneswar Chapter in association with KIDS

Indian Sciences Congress Association (ISCA) Bhubaneswar Chapter in association with Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), KIIT Deemed to be University organized a National Webinar on “Science & Technology for Atmanirbhar Bharat” on 2nd March 2021 on combined virtual and physical mode. Prof. Vijayalakshmi Saxena, in her inaugural address, spoke about the importance of science and technology for the upliftment of the students’ community.

Congratulating the Organizing Team for holding such an elaborate webinar, Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU urged the scientific community to get more involved in such events at National and International platforms. Dr. Abikshyeet Panda, Faculty & Head of Research Committee, KIDS stressed upon the necessity of self-reliance and self-support in all domains. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi, Assistant Director, KIDS for their inspiration to hold such events and programmes. The webinar was also addressed by Prof. P. P. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University & Former General Secretary, Scientific Activities, ISCA.

The webinar featured two technical sessions chaired by Dr. S. K. Parashar and Prof. (Dr.) Md Jalauddin, Faculty, KIDS respectively. Dr. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu spoke about Atmanirbhar Bharat and the opportunities ahead. Prof. P. P. Mathur explained different applications of bioinformatics in drug design and development. Speaking at the second technical session, Dr. Chandrasekher Abbineni explained targeted degradation of bromodomain containing protein for cancer therapy. Dr. Shalini Kapoor, Faculty, SGT University, Gurgaon spoke about the role of dental health professionals in making India self-reliant.

The gathering was also addressed by Dr. Chitta Ranjan Mishra, Eminent Chemical Scientist & Technologist, Columnist, Television Anchor, Author, Orator & National Science Communicator. He spoke about indigenous technology development for Atmanirbhar Bharat. He guided the participants and delegates through the importance of science and technology.  

Dr. Kajal Parashar, Convener, ISCA Bhubaneswar Chapter and Dr. S. K. Parashar also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Dhirendra Singh, Faculty, KIDS proposed the vote of thanks.
