IIT Indore Faculty Delivers Lecture on “Infection & Co-infection Models of Chronic Diseases”

Dr. Hem Chandra Jha, Associate Professor, Department of Biosciences & Biomedical Engineering, IIT Indore delivered a guest lecture on ‘Infection and Co-infection Models of Chronic Diseases’ at a Staff Academic Seminar at KIMS on 19th May 2022. Dr. Jha is a Ramanujan Fellow and has 60 international publications to his credit. He presented his work on gastric cancer due to H. Pylori and Epstein-Barr virus co-infection, COVID-19 and co-infections and its long-term neural complications. He also presented his work on various plant products for treatment of COVID-19 infection.

Earlier, Dr. Jha was felicitated by Brig. Prof. Ambika P. Mohanty, Principal, KIMS and Professor Emeritus, Dr. Suresh Ch. Dash. They also decided to have an MOU between KIMS and IIT Indore for further research and collaborative work.  At present, Dr. Jha is working with Prof. Nirmal Mohakud, Paediatrics, KIMS on Covid-19 and they have received an ICMR grant for the same. Dr. Jha expressed his satisfaction after visiting KIIT campus, particularly KISS. He thanked KIMS management for this opportunity and ongoing collaboration.
