On July 28, 2024, marking World Hepatitis Day, volunteers from KIIT University‘s Youth Red Cross Society organized a community outreach event in a slum area near RTO Square in Patia. They were accompanied by counselors Dr. Junali Jasmine Jena, Dr. Chitralekha Jena, Dr. Ajit Pasayat, and Dr. Ramesh Sethi, who aimed to raise awareness about Hepatitis. Dr. Ramesh Sethi explained the symptoms, causes, and prevention of Hepatitis, supported by three MBBS student volunteers from KIMS. During this two-hour educational engagement, residents were provided with crucial information about Hepatitis, emphasizing the importance of awareness in combating the disease. The outreach fostered a sense of community engagement, and refreshments were distributed to the participants towards the end.
