Dr. Ambarish Padhee Joins as Director, Central Laboratory, KIMS
Dr. Ambarish Padhee has joined Kalinga Institute of Medical Science (KIMS) as the Director, Central Laboratory on 05th July 2021. Dr. Padhee did his MBBS from SCB Medical College under Utkal University, M.D. in Pathology from Kasturba Medical College under Mangalore University. He started his career as a faculty in Kasturba Medical College and served the institution for a decade. The next decade he worked as a Consultant Pathologist with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ministry of Defence and Aviation (MODA), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This gave him a multicultural global professional exposure.
He came back to India in 2001 and joined Kalinga Hospital Bhubaneswar as a Consultant Pathologist and brought in the culture of answerable quality Laboratory services. During this period, he was also the pro-bono instrument purchase advisor to Regional Medical Research Center (RMRC). He moved on to Super Relegate Laboratory (SRL) in the year 2005 as the Chief Pathologist & Head Operations. He established its services as a hub and spoke model in the state of Odisha. This experience gave him the opportunity to establish the Central Laboratory, AMRI Hospital Bhubaneswar in the capacity of Chief Pathologist & Head Central Laboratory. Involvement with committees for clinical governance & hospital mortality morbidity at AMRI made his services reachable to clinical colleagues.
He has been involved with operation, leadership, direction and administration of laboratory testing in accordance with applicable regulations governing clinical laboratory service. He is passionate about Anatomic Pathology and, in the pandemic, he pursued this passion through his personal blog page http://www.drambarishpadhee.com and tried establishing digital pathology services. He is involved with NGOs for health care of elderly patients of Non Resident Indians and also NGO Odisha Covid helpline
