Dept of Respiratory Medicine Organises NTEP Training Programme for Faculties

The Department of Respiratory Medicine, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) organised a training programme on National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) for faculties, junior and senior residents on September 22, 2023.

The meeting commenced with a welcome note which was delivered by Prof Pratima Singh, HoD of the Department of Respiratory Medicine, KIMS. Prof Sudarsan Pothal, HoD, Respiratory Medicine, Shri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital, Puri delivered an elaborate lecture on the approach to cases of pulmonary TB. This was followed by a talk on approach to extra-pulmonary TB by Dr Saswat Subhankar, Associate Professor Department of Respiratory Medicine, KIMS.

The meeting was attended by nearly 100 faculties and residents of the medical college. It ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Sabitarani Pramanik, Medical Officer, NTEP.

The programme was a great learning platform for all the residents and faculties who attended it. This will go a long way in the aspiration of making our country TB free.
