Dept of Medicine excels at National APICON, Ahmedabad

Department of Medicine, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) actively participated at the 78th Annual Conference of the Association of Physicians of India (APICON) in Ahmedabad from January 26 to 29.

The biggest medical conference of India, APICON, was attended by more than 700 national faculties and more than 10 international faculties. Prof Lalatendu Mohanty, Head of the Department, was conferred fellowship of the prestigious Indian College of Physicians (FICP).

Brig (Dr) AP Mohanty, Professor, Dept of Medicine and Principal, KIMS, Prof Shubhransu Patro, Vice-Principal,KIMS, Prof Lalatendu Mohanty, HoD, Prof BN Mohapatra, Prof KP Tripathy, Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, Asst Professor presented talks on various topics at the academic event. The faculty also chaired sessions and judged free paper presentations.

There were nine free paper presentations and two poster presentations from post graduate residents of the Department. All the presentations were well appreciated at the forum. Dr Mourya Machipeddy second year PG resident received the best free paper award. The Department of Medicine has the unique distinction of receiving the best free paper award for the fourth time in as many physical representations.
