Divided into five sections and comprising 23 important chapters, this book covers a vast array of subjects that are crucial for a thorough understanding of pharmacology. It begins with a detailed exploration of drug dosage forms, routes of administration, and the basics of calculating drug doses. From there, it delves into practical applications such as oral rehydration therapy, setting up intravenous drips, and prescription writing.

The book also addresses several critical aspects of pharmacological practice that are often overlooked, including the assessment of drug promotional literature and package inserts, responding to adverse drug reactions, and effective communication with patients regarding the proper use of prescribed medication.

These sections highlight the importance of responsible drug use, medication adherence, and optimizing treatment outcomes. In addition, the authors provide insights into experimental pharmacology, discussing the administration of drugs through various parenteral routes in a simulated environment and the effects of drugs on blood pressure and pulse rate using computer-aided learning.

The book also emphasizes the significance of communication skills, empathy, and ethics in medical practice, ensuring the development of well-rounded healthcare professionals. Written primarily for undergraduate students, it also caters to the needs of post-graduate students and practicing doctors.  It is published by Paras Publications.
