1st Midterm PedAllercon 2025: Shaping the Future of Pediatric Allergy Care in India

The 1st MidPedAllercon 2025, a landmark midterm National Conference on pediatric asthma, allergy, and immunology, was successfully conducted on 22nd June 2025 at the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bhubaneswar. Conceived as a focused platform for pediatricians and allergists across India, the conference marked a pivotal step in strengthening awareness, academic exchange, and skill-building in the field of childhood allergic diseases.

The conference was formally inaugurated by Prof.(Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, who emphasized the importance of academic collaboration in enhancing healthcare delivery. Prof. (Dr.) Braja Kishor Das, Additional DMET, Odisha;  Prof. (Dr.) R C Das, Dean & Principal, KIMS; and Prof (Dr.) M.R. Behera, Medical Superintendent graced the dais and extended full institutional support to pediatric allergy initiatives.

Notable speakers include Dr. H. Paramesh, Dr. T. U. Sukumaran, Dr. P. A. Mahesh, and Dr. Neeraj Gupta delivered high-impact talks on: Environmental triggers and the rise of allergic diseases; Food and drug hypersensitivities in children; Pet and latex allergy identification and prevention; Personalized care in bronchial asthma and AI-driven decision-making in allergy diagnostics.

Jointly led by Dr. Narayan Prashad Modi HOD Pediatrics, MKCG Medical college, Berhampur; and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sahu, Professor Pediatrics, KIMS, Bhubaneswar as Organizing Secretaries, the conference brought together over 250 delegates and more than 25 renowned national faculty members. The sessions reflected the evolving challenges and solutions in pediatric allergy care—from day-to-day clinical dilemmas to cutting-edge diagnostics and artificial intelligence applications.

The success of this first edition lays the foundation for building stronger regional and national networks focused on research, training, and clinical excellence in pediatric allergy and immunology.
