Youth Red Cross KIIT Celebrates 75th Independence Day

Youth Red Cross (YRC), KIIT celebrated the 75th Independence Day virtually on the theme, “A tribute to the protectors of the Tricolour”. Speaking on the occasion, Maj. (Dr.) Aniruddha Bhattacharjee, Army Medical Corps shared his hardships and experiences during Special Posting at Siachen Base Camp, and the struggles of other soldiers posted there. However, such struggles never refrain them from saving our Nation, he said.

Lt. Hitendra Prakash Shukla, INS Kamarta, Indian Navy, who is an alumnus of KIIT School of Electrical Engineering, shared the beautiful work culture and the pathways to get into the Armed Forces through their recruitment processes. Mr. Pratyush Mohapatra, OPS, SDPO, Deogarh, Odisha Police, a former faculty member of the School of Electrical Engineering, shared his views in terms of preparations to get through the Civil Services. He also praised the Library Facilities of KIIT and their worthiness.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Dr. Samaresh Mishra, Director of Student Affairs briefed them about KIIT and KISS. Mentioning the contributions of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS in the fields of education and social welfare, said, YRC KIIT is also following Dr. Samanta’s vision. Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean – School of Electrical appreciated the guests for their services to the nation at their respective places and positions. Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director – KSAC thanked all the esteemed guests and participants to make the event a grand success. He also expressed his appreciation to the YRC KIIT for their involvement in different social welfare activities like blood donation, cloth distribution, support to the old age home, etc.

The event was mentored by Dr. Chitralekha Jena and Dr. Tanmoy Roy Choudhury, Counsellor of YRC KIIT with the active involvement of YRC volunteers Mr. Abhishek Dey, Mr. Somil Shourya, Ms. Anoushka Khandelwal. It was moderated by Ms.Garima Saluja and Ms. Sikruti Mohanty, YRC Volunteers.
