Voice for BT contest held at KIIT School of Biotechnology

KIIT School of Biotechnology hosted an Inter Collegiate Public Speaking contest, ‘voice for BT’ in collaboration with Novozymes South Asia Pvt. Ltd and supported by the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) on 4th January, 2019 at KSBT Auditorium, Campus 11. While voice for BT contest is sponsored every year by Novozymes in different zones of the country, for eastern zone, such contest is being hosted by KSBT for the third consecutive year.  

In fact, Novozymes, encourages the promising Biotechnology students to pursue higher studies in Biotechnology related areas. With this background they have initiated ‘voice for BT’,a Public Speaking Contest, which gives an opportunity for the students to voice their views on various topics on Biotechnology. This motivates the students to pursue higher studies.

In all, there were 23 candidates from different renowned institutes and Universities of Eastern India as participants for this event. The candidates receiving the first, second and third positions were awarded with a cash prize of 20,000 INR, 15,000 INR and 10,000 INR respectively. They were also offered a 6 months dissertation program with Novozymes post their Master Degree. 

Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University; Mr. G.S. Krishnan Regional President, Novozymes, India; Mr. Suresh Narayanan, COO, ABLE and Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Director, KIIT School of Biotechnology were present in the Inaugural Ceremony and motivated the participants. On behalf of  KIIT School of Biotechnology, Dr. Amrita Mishra coordinated the programme.
