The future Olympians are in KISS: Kiren Rijiju
“Among thousands of tribal boys and girls of KISS, I can see the future Olympians. Students of KISS can bring laurels for our country” said Kiren Rijiju Union Minister of State (Ind.) for Youth Affairs & Sports and Minister of State for Minority Affairs. During his visit to KIIT and KISS on 1st November, he spent ample of time along with the 27500 tribal students of KISS.
Addressing the students he said, India should do well in coming 2020 Tokyo Olympics than previous Olympic. Tribal boys and girls should do well in the Olympics. He said, “I have visited many times to Odisha, but today I saw the real Odisha. The happiness of innocent boys and girls especially happiness of young people, which is the real strength of India. Odisha is known for world class sports stars like Dutee Chand.
Tribal boys and girls of India will play a major role in the coming Olympics. India deserves more medals from the Olympics. The natural talents are in among the tribal boys and girls. We have to make it realize the potentials of tribal boys and girls. KISS is a World class institute. When KISS is doing so much, it is the responsibility of the governments to come forward and give a helping hand.
It is amazing that Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS struggled last 25 years to make it a world class institute. He has sacrificed his entire life for development of poorest of the poor tribal people. For which he thanked Dr. Samanta. Also the love and affection I see among the boys and girls of this institute that won my heart.
There is no lack of talent in India. Talents are hidden in villages and rural areas. We have to take proper initiative to bring them out. We have to fit mentally and physically, so that we can make India a great nation. Earlier India was known as a poor country to world, now world respects India. We have to move together, he added.
