The Central Research Facility (CRF) at K-Innovation, KIIT Deemed to be University recently concluded its inaugural summer internship program, held from May 31st to June 14th, 2024. This program welcomed students from various schools, including Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), as well as participants from outside of the university. Designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to cutting-edge research, the internship offered specialized sessions in microscopy, chromatography, spectroscopy, and materials testing.
The event was inaugurated by the Director of R&D, Prof. Gopal Chandra Kundu, and Prof. Rojalin Sahu, Associate Dean of CRF. They emphasized the visionary leadership of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and his dedication to societal advancement through scientific dissemination. Prof. Jayashree Das and Dr. Shanta Chakrabarty highlighted the importance of this program.
The internship featured a blend of theoretical and practical sessions, meticulously curated and conducted by expert faculty members, including Dr. Spandan Guha, Dr. Shanta Chakrabarty, Dr. Diptiranjan Biswal, Dr. Santosh Kumar, Dr. Pratap Ku Deheri, Dr. Alok Ku. Panda, Dr. Gopal K. Pradhan, Dr. Samaresh Jana, and Dr. Kundan Samal. Practical sessions were led by Nirmal Mallick, Bibhuti Bhusan Mohanty, M Sanjay, and Susant Kumar Gouda.
Beyond the technical aspects, the program fostered a collaborative and networking-friendly environment. Participants engaged in discussions, shared ideas, and built connections with fellow interns and mentors. Feedback from both students and mentors highlighted the program’s success in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application. Many participants expressed gratitude for the hands-on experience and mentorship they received, acknowledging the program’s significant impact on their academic and professional trajectories.
