SPIC MACAY KIIT Chapter Hosts “Great Master Series” – A Rendition to Carnatic Music
In cherished remembrance of the beloved Mysore T Chowdaiah and Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, KIIT Chapter of SPIC MACAY hosted the “Great Master Series” celebrating the 125th and 100th anniversary of the musical giants on 10th July 2021 via zoom platform. Audiences from all over the country attended the event. The afternoon series began with a few brief words by the host about SPIC MACAY. Homage was paid to Prof. T. N. Krishnan, Violinist Maestro along with an introduction. Smt. Charumathy Raghuraman, violinist, the Guest of the event, littered the afternoon with delightful tidbits and wisdom of her guru, T. N. Krishnan. The event also featured an interactive Q/A session that was followed by snippets of performance pieces by Prof. Krishnan. The musical afternoon came to an end with Dy. Director Student Services, Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura saying a few words about the event followed by a word of thanks.
