Special Training Programme ‘Perspective on Academic Leadership’
A week long special training programme on “Perspective on Academic Leadership for Principals and Senior Faculties of Degree Colleges, Odisha “ was organized by QA Cell, KIIT-DU from 6th-11th March, 2019 at Seminar Hall-1, Campus-6.
The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by Prof. A. Das, VC, HEC; Dr. P.S. Mishra, IAS, Addl. Secretary, H.E. Department, Dr. S. Samanta, Registrar, KIIT-DU and Prof. J.K. Parida, Director, QA Cell. The dignitaries explained the need of the hour mentioning the meaning and importance of academic leadership along with the justification of the programme. They shared the experience and expertise with the participants mentioning the role of Principals and senior faculties to develop a holistic environment in an educational institution.
During the subsequent sessions, Experts like Dr. A. Das, VC, HEC; Prof. S.M. Pattnaik, VC, Utkal University; Prof. Madhumita Das, VC, Fakir Mohan University; Dr. S. Mishra, Former DHE; Mr. S. Priyadarshi, IPS, IGP; Mr. A.K. Behera, IAS; Prof. R.K. Bal; Prof. S.N. Mishra, Dean, KSOM; Prof. R.N. Mohanty and Prof. M.K. Mohanty, etc. placed their deliberations and shared their views to solve the problems faced by principals in their respective colleges with respect to discipline, accounts & audit, administrative compliances, legal issues pertaining to their jobs and R&D by teaching staff so as to be ethical in discharge of their duties.
Experts also dealt with stress management, time management, institution building and value addition by staffs so as to bring a holistic atmosphere as well as to satisfy all categories of stakeholders. Brainstorming sessions were the unique features of this training programme everyday where all participants along with experts exchanged the ideas finding the context specific solutions.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Brigadier L.C. Patnaik, Chairman, OPSC; Prof. A. Pati, VC, GMU and Dr. P.S. Mishra, IAS, Addl. Secretary, H.E. Department. All the participants shared their views and expressed their heartfelt thanks to Govt. of Odisha and especially to KIIT for excellent ambience and hospitality.
Towards the end, Prof. J.K. Parida, Director, QA Cell thanked the dignitaries, resource persons and the participants for smooth completion of this successful event.
