“Speak and Search Lecture Series” organized at KIIT

KIIT School of Civil Engineering in association with ASCE and ICE Student Chapter organized a technical event “Speak and Search Lecture Series” on 10th August, 2019. The speakers Ms. Padma Parija and Mr. Purnajit Bhowmik (Members of ICE), 7th semester students of KIIT School of Civil Engineering delivered their lectures on “Solid Waste Management in India: Existing Framework and Opportunities” and “Bogibeel Bridge” respectively.

Ms. Padma Parija stated, “we can make the process sustainable and adopt to get the maximum output though the new technology of proper Solid Waste Management along with the mechanism and procedure”. Apart from highlighting its importance, she also focused on the self-awareness and educating others for the better environment around us.

Mr. Purnajit Bhowmik gave an interactive lecture on Bogibeel Bridge, situated in Assam. He emphasized on the construction delay and its effects on the project. The lecture was very informative and the students understood the importance of conducting all the activities of the project in time, or else it can lead to major issues like delay in construction and consequently huge increase in the project cost.

On this occasion, Dr. B.G. Mohapatra (Dean, School of Civil Engineering, KIIT DU); Dr. S. Moulick (Associate Dean, School of Civil Engineering); Dr. D.K. Bera (Associate Dean, Training and Placement); Dr. K.P. Samal (Faculty in Charge KSCE) and faculties of School of Civil Engineering were present and appreciated this event. They encouraged  the students to participate  such  type of events which are beyond the curriculum and will help every student for their future endeavors.

Eventually, the event was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Dr. K.P. Samal.
