Regional New Year Celebration
The Regional New year was celebrated by KIIT Student Activity Centre at the Rose Garden, Campus-12 on 14th April, 2019. The evening started with Prof. Sudarshan Nanda, Professor of Eminence & Research Chair, who addressed the assemblage of staffs and students.
Mr. Debraj Pradhan, Director General, International Office, KIIT also addressed the gathering and spoke about the essence of Regional New Year celebrated in various parts of the country. This was followed by the address of Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Deputy Director, Student Services, KSAC who emphasized on the promotion of cultural diversity at KIIT by Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
All the coordinators of various Student Societies of KSAC were acknowledged for their contribution towards various events and were given the Certificate of Appreciation by the dignitaries present on the occasion.
The Students of KIIT showcased the rich traditions of various states of India through dance and music. This day is also the anniversary of Khwaab Society, which works on the philosophy of Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta on Art of Giving, India against Negativity and Kompassion.
As per tradition, the dignitaries cut the ‘chhenna poda’….the quintessential delicacy from Odisha and it was distributed among all. Being “Pana Sankranti” in Odisha, all enjoyed the authentic Pana and light snacks.
