One Week Online FDP on Advanced Materials (Fabrication, Characterization and Applications)

School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University inaugurated One Week Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Advanced Materials (Fabrication, Characterization, and Applications) on 20th July, 2020. The objective of the workshop is to provide in-depth knowledge of advanced materials, their fundamental characteristics, synthesis, characterization and applications in the advancement of Science and Technology in different domains.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Sahoo, Director, School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University welcomed all the dignitaries and participants followed by the presentation of a brief report on FDP by Dr. Hemalata Jena, Convener. The session was inaugurated by Dr. Bhabani Kumar Satpathy, Professor, Material Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi as Guest of Honour. The participants were enlightened by the encouraging words of Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Hon’ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor, KIIT DU. The Inaugural Session concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Purna Chandra Mishra, Dean Research.

On the inaugural day, the session commenced with the inspirational presentation by Dr. Bhabani K. Satpathy, Professor, IIT Delhi, on the topic “Phase Selective-Nanomorphology and Temperature Dependence of Electrical Conductivity”. It was followed by another invited talk by the resource person  Dr. Animesh Mandal, School of Minerals, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Associate Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar.  In his deliberation, he focused on the topic ‘Advances in solidification and casting of aluminum alloys’. The ongoing FDP will continue up to 25th July, 2020.
