National Oral Cancer Day Observed at KIDS

The Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) observed National Oral Cancer Day 2019, under the supervision of Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi, Assistant Director (Admin.) & Dr. Balaji Manohar, Principal, KIDS. Faculty member Dr. Abhikshyeet Panda delivered a lecture on the current scenario of Oral Cancer in India.

In India, 20 per 100000 population are affected by Oral Cancer which accounts for about 30% of all types of cancer in the body.  Over 5 people in India die every hour everyday because of Oral Cancer and the same number of people die from cancer in oropharynx and hypopharynx. 

In the context of such a horrifying scenario, the fraternity of the Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University, requests each & every citizen of our Nation to take pledge, to spot the “SPOT” before it really becomes too late…
