Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: An Oath for a Healthier, Drug-Free Future
KIIT Student Counseling Cell and TMS hosted a meaningful Awareness & Oath Programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on 20th August 2026.
The programme brought together the University leadership, the Brahma Kumaris and students for an engaging conversation on addiction prevention, healthy living and the importance of building a drug-free campus and society.
The presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh; Pro Vice Chancellor-cum-Registrar Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty; Director General–Student Services Prof. Samaresh Mishra ; Director Student Counselling Prof. Pranab Mahapatra; Director Student Services Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi; Director, TMS Prof. Prachet Bhuyan; BK Leena Didi, Director, Brahma Kumaris Bhubaneswar Subzone; and BK Golap Didi, Patia Centre In-charge, added great value to the programme.

The sessions encouraged students to pause, reflect and understand that a drug-free future begins with awareness, conscious choices and collective responsibility. The Nasha Mukt Bharat Oath further turned that awareness into a personal commitment.
The programme then took a beautiful cultural turn with Raksha Bandhan – a celebration of universal brotherhood. Students tied Rakhis with the Brahma Kumari sisters, received their blessings and shared moments of warmth, respect and togetherness.
It was a beautiful blend of education and culture—where awareness met values, a pledge met purpose, and a social message became a shared experience.
